Established in 2002, The Dewberry Foundation's primary mission is to inspire today's youth to achieve their magnanimitas, or greatness of spirit. To date, the Foundation has contributed over one million dollars to more than a hundred different charities. With a focus on youth education, the arts, environmental issues and health causes, the Foundation continually supports both national and local charities. We are also proud hosts of the 2011 Uptown Rhodes Race.
Annually, Uptown Atlanta's founding corporate resident, Dewberry Capital Corporation, together with the Dewberry Foundation and The Georgia Trust, one of the nation's leading preservation organizations, host the Uptown Rhodes Race.
The Uptown Rhodes Race is an annual 5K family and pet-friendly run and/or walking event open to everyone. This worthy endeavor raises money for The Georgia Trust, a non-profit committed to enhancing Georgia's communities and their diverse historic resources. Moreover, this event brings our Uptown community together for fun, food, exercise and entertainment.
The race offers something for everyone. A challenging course for serious runners or a scenic fun run/walk for dog owners and their 'best friends'. Race participants will start at Rhodes Hall, wind through 3.1 miles of gentle rolling hills in the nearby Ansley and Sherwood Forest neighborhoods before returning for an after-race celebration on the lawn of historic Rhodes Hall.
